MISSION TOUR: The Five Franciscan Missions of the Sierra Gorda and the Historic City of Santiago de Querétaro, México “The Missions of Saint Junípero Serra”

March 6, 2016 @ 5:00 pm - March 13, 2016 @ 12:00 pm

Folks,

I am pasting below the text from the flyer for an upcoming tour of the Sierra Gorda missions and art and architecture of Santiago de Querétaro, Mexico.

The tour is sponsored by a small but influential non-profit based in Tecate, Baja California called Corredor Histórico/CAREM, A.C. (http://www.carem.org/).  I have been working with this organization for several years to raise awareness of and preserve the cultural heritage of the Baja California peninsula and El Camino Real de las Californias, which runs from Loreto, Baja California Sur to Sonoma in northern California.

Each year the organization sponsors various tours to key locations on the Baja California peninsula and in the United States and Mexico.  These tours are the major fund-raising events for Corredor Histórico/CAREM. Tours are geared toward all age ranges, the non-academic guest as well as specialists in history and the history of art and architecture. The tours are an enjoyable mix of culture and fun!

I hope you will consider joining us!  Please inform students, colleagues and any other interested parties about this exciting opportunity to visit these missions and see first-hand the amazing colonial art and architecture of Santiago de Querétaro and surrounding areas.

Thanks so much!
